How to make Windows 11 look like a Mac

Three things make Windows look like a Mac: a Dock in place of the taskbar, the icons in the centre and a wallpaper to match. Windows 11 handles the second on its own. The Dock takes an app, like PrimoDock, which also runs on the Mac and makes both computers match.

What you can do without installing anything

  • Centred icons: the Windows 11 default. If yours are on the left, change it in Settings › Personalization › Taskbar › Taskbar behaviors.
  • Dark or light mode and the accent colour, in Settings › Personalization › Colors.
  • Fewer buttons on the bar: hide Search, Task view and Widgets.
  • A macOS-style wallpaper, in Settings › Personalization › Background.

The Dock, the part Windows does not have

Centring the icons makes the taskbar look similar, but it is still a bar: full width, not floating, one look. A Dock is something else, and on Windows it comes from an app.

Do I have to edit the registry or system files?
